Britain claim legal action will be taken
The British Foreign Secretary has warned France it has 48 hours to back down on threats made in a post-Brexit fishing row with the UK - or legal action will be taken.
Liz Truss says the French are being "completely unreasonable" after Paris claimed it would block ports if it was not granted more licenses for fishermen to operate in British waters.
She says the UK will seek "compensatory measures" if the dispute is not resolved:
Yesterday, Downing Street denied British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French president Emmanuel Macron, had agreed a deal to de-escalate their dispute.
The French President said he has proposed a way to end the row, and "the ball was now in Britain's court".
