He was arrested in the Liverpool area on behalf of Spanish authorities and the extradition process could see him returned to Spain.
Police said the arrest was in connection with a double shooting on the 31st of May, where Eddie Lyons Jnr and Ross Monaghan, were shot dead by a hooded gunman outside an Irish pub in Fuengirola.
