Trump Calls For Intel CEO’s Resignation Over China Ties

Intel employs around 5,000 people at its Leixlip plant.

U.S President Donald Trump has called for the resignation of Intel’s new chief executive, Lip-Bu Tan, calling him “highly conflicted” over his ties to Chinese firms.

Trump’s statement, posted on Truth Social, followed reports highlighting Tan’s investments in hundreds of Chinese tech and semiconductor companies - some allegedly linked to the Chinese military.

Shares in Intel dropped nearly 5% in premarket trading.

A leadership shakeup would come at a sensitive time for Intel, as the company undergoes a major strategic overhaul under Tan, including job cuts and a pause on several manufacturing projects.

Intel employs around 5,000 people at its Leixlip plant.
